Hey Juuuuuude!
A lot has transpired since our last post.
*On Feb. 8 Nick had his 18-month checkup. The fun part: Showing off in front of Dr. Ronan. During the exam, the good doctor asked, "Is he saying a few words, like 'Mommy' and 'Daddy'?
Rob and I exchanged looks. "Nick, can you tell us your favorite Beatles song?" I asked.
"If he can answer that, I'll be really impressed," said Dr. Ronan.
"Hey Juuuuude!" Nick bellowed, right on cue. We believe he was impressed.
The not-so-fun part: Shots!
The vitals: 24 pounds, 4 ounces (he gained three-quarters of a pound since his 15-month visit); 33" tall and a 52-cm noggin. (Don't ask me why they measure his weight in pounds and his head in metrics. Also, don't ask me to convert those metrics.)
Snow blow
The record snowfall on Sunday wasn't nearly as fun as we'd hoped. It took me two-and-a-half-hours to get to work (I walked a mile to the Path train only to find it wasn't running; a ferry finally showed up -- though the ticket agent never did -- and then the ferry bus got stuck on the Manhattan side. At least I got my exercise.)
Nick was feeling under the weather, so he didn't make it outside to throw snowballs until Tues
day. By then the temperature had climbed into the 50s and the snow had pretty much been reduced to mush, which didn't make for good snowballs. We did go to the park (after music class) for the first time in ages, where we played on the swings and added our own finishing touches to someone's dilapidated snowman. Alas, mommy forgot to bring the camera.
We took Daddy to the airport on Wednesday; he headed to Houston for the NBA All-Star game. On the way home we stopped at Old Navy and picked up some nifty new PJs (right).
Granpop-arrazzi
Grandpop, who came to town with the Raptors on Tuesday, stayed for a few extra days. He and Nick spent countless hours playing spirited games of Monkey Dunk and a new favorite, Monkey Boom (photos TK).
